January Music Review Game – Snowball Fight!
This fun music game will get kids up and moving in January or February! Perfect for reviewing ANY topic – rhythm, note reading, vocabulary etc.
Print out whatever objectives you want to review on plain paper and give one paper to each student. Have them ball it up and have a 20-30 second ‘snowball fight.’ (Be sure you clearly explain expectations before you begin!)
After the time goes of to end the snowball fight, students all pick up ONE snowball. They open it, figure out how to count, sing, note name, describe etc depending on which type of game you are playing. Then they explain their snowball to the class.
For example, if using this to review rhythms, each student would study their 4 beat rhythm from the paper they pick up. Then they would show it to the class & count it for the class. If you’re using this with students who aren’t confident in counting independently, each child can hold up their card and the entire class can count.
Want some no prep SNOWFLAKE themed rhythm flashcards to get you started with an easy snowball fight with your 1st, 2nd or 3rd graders? You can grab this set of 30 flashcards which can be printed in black and white on regular paper to be ‘balled up’ for this game! You can use the pretty colored version on cardstock to review before the snowball fight begins!

Happy teaching!
